MILFORD, PA - Once again, Altec Lansing presents the Milford Music Festival! For the fourth year in a row, dozens of world-class musicians will converge in Ann Street Park in Milford for an awe-inspiring free concert. The stellar line-up will be embellished with nearby venues and street performances. This community event made possible through the generosity of sponsors, sets the town of Milford to music over three full days on June 9, 10, and 11, rain or shine!

Starring New Riders of the Purple Sage on Saturday, June 10, Milford will be the host to a wide array of recognizable names in a variety of genres. Fromm jazz, blues, classical, folk, ragtime, country western, bluegrass, and world percussion, there will be something to excite even the most fastidious listener.

As a salute to the creative arts as a whole, the Milford Music Festival made a decision to incorporate an original, music intensive image for 2006. When the organizers of this year's festival went looking for a visual icon to pull together the anticipated vibrancy of the upcoming festival for its promotional materials, Administrator Angel Barnard said, "The message we'd like to convey is "Bold, Exciting Music!!!," The Milford Music Festival has secured the licensing rights to "The Art of Music," by Dane Tilghman. This bright, colorful rendering is featured on the inset of this month's cover of CONNECTIONS.

This image will appear on the festival poster, brochure, and T-shirts. The original framed artwork is "22 x 30" and is done in acrylics. It will be offered for auction at the Festival Fundraiser to be held on Thursday evening, May 11th, 2006 at 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Best Western Inn at Hunt's Landing on Route 6 & 209. Net proceeds will benefit the festival. You may also see this image online at the MMF site: http://www.milfordmusic.org.

Dane's work in the music and theatrical worlds includes illustrated CD covers for several jazz radio stations, as well as three playbills for People's Light Theatre. He created the 2000 poster for the Bethlehem Music Festival, and he is the featured artist for the billboards for the 2005 and 2006 Pocono Blues Festival. He has completed numerous portraits of jazz and blues musicians, which can be seen on his website: http://www.tilghmanenterprises.com. Dane's work has also appeared on TV shows such as "House," "The Cosby Show," and "Roseanne."
